We design shops and showrooms where the product is easy to see, easy to reach and easy to buy. Display, light and flow get planned before anything is built.
A showroom is a selling tool, not a decoration job. The door, the first three metres, the height of your shelves and the light falling on your product decide whether a person walks in and stays. We plan those things first, then we choose finishes.
We have done retail in tight city spaces and in large halls. Joy Electronics at Finlay Square Chattogram is 220 sq ft of mobile and accessories display, so every centimetre of wall had to hold stock. Dazzle Showroom, also at Finlay Square, was built in 7 days because the shop could not sit closed any longer. Two different jobs, but we worked both the same way.
Design Code has been working since 2012, head office in Chattogram, projects all over Bangladesh including Dhaka. We can hand you drawings and let your own contractor build, or we can do the whole job turnkey and give you back a shop that is ready to open.
We measure the space, count what you actually sell and how it is packed, watch how people move at your busiest hour, and check the frontage, the daylight and the power supply you already have.
We set walkway widths, sight lines from the door, where the best selling product sits, cash counter and queue position, and how much stock stays on the floor. You see the plan and a 3D view before anything is ordered.
We plan track lighting product by product, and pick beam angle and colour temperature for what you sell. We choose finishes for daily cleaning and knocks, not for a photo. We draw signage to your real frontage, we do not guess it.
We work nights or in sections so you keep trading where possible. Dazzle Showroom was finished in 7 days this way. Handover comes with spare tiles, spare lamps and a written list of what everything is.
Size is only part of it. The big cost drivers are how much of the display is custom joinery against ready made racks, the number and quality of light fittings, whether you change the false ceiling and the floor, glass and aluminium at the shopfront, new electrical and AC work, and signage. Speed matters too. A shop that must open in a week needs night shifts and extra labour, so it costs more than a normal schedule. We price item by item, so you can see where the money goes and cut what you do not need.
It depends on how much work the shop needs. A small shop with a fixed design and materials already bought can be done in about a week. Dazzle Showroom at Finlay Square was built in 7 days. A medium showroom with new ceiling, flooring, joinery and lighting is usually 4 to 8 weeks. Delays almost always come from late decisions or late material, so we lock the drawings and the material list before work starts. If you cannot close at all, we build in sections or at night.
Keep the general light lower and put the bright light on the product. Track lights with narrow beams for feature pieces, wider beams for shelves. Colour temperature depends on what you sell. Gold and jewellery look right in warm light around 3000K. Clothing and cosmetics need lamps with high colour rendering, so the colour a customer sees in your shop is the colour they see on the street. Electronics and white goods usually suit a cooler 4000K. Watch glare on glass and on polished floors, and never aim a spot into a customer's eyes at the door.
Yes. Our head office is in Chattogram and we take projects all over Bangladesh, including Dhaka. Sonali Life Insurance in Malibagh Dhaka is one of ours. For sites away from Chattogram we put a supervisor on site, run weekly visits, and send photos and progress notes so you are never guessing. Travel and stay costs are shown separately in the quote, never hidden inside the item rates.
Tell us about your space and we will come back within one working day. The first consultation is free.
